Halliwells Tops North West Deals Table

Law firm Halliwells has retained its position as the North West's most active legal advisor during 2009, according to research by Corpfin, the subsidiary of global information services company Experian.

The research is based on transactions of £500,000 or above announced between 1 January 2009 and 31 December 2009. Target, bidder or parent of either party must be located in the North West in order to be included.

Commenting on the firm's market leading performance, Mark Halliwell, National Group Head of Corporate at Halliwells said:

"We all know the UK transactional market has been shocking now for the best part of 2 years. All you can do in those circumstances is to ensure that you maintain, and ideally grow your market share. We have managed to maintain our market leading position in the North West now for the last 4 years. Ignoring deals of less than £1m, we have also maintained our leading market share being involved in around 9% of all deals in the local market, consistently now for the last 3 years.
